The
tracklisting includes such gems as Kiko's "Monique"
(undoubtedly the hymn of 'future-disco'); Dima's classic menacing
tech-wave remix of The Hacker's "Fadin' Away"; the
unparalleled "134" from Oxia; some fine examples
of Oxia and The Hacker's teamwork; and techno exploits by
Len Faki ("Satisfy"), Anthony ("Spleen Attitude").
To complete the picture, Arno Riva & DJ Speep's "Sundown"
brings a classic tech-house feel that is mischievous, original
and fresh.
Even though the label was created during a time of techno
cynicism and indifference as the "French Touch"
wave was in full force, GoodLife has remained insistent and
has opened the doors to a far wider audience than just "techno
lovers". Times have changed and GoodLife is now sort
and lauded by respected house DJs.
To sum up, 'GoodLife Vol.1' is a finely crafted, sincere piece
of work that places GoodLife at the front of the queue of
the rejuvenated French techno scene, taking the relay from
the "French Touch" phenomenon in the international
scene.
